Freedom From Pain is a self-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. This allows Dr. Shawna greater flexibility to provide treatment based on each client’s individual needs rather than insurance restrictions.

Missouri direct-access laws allow you to begin physical therapy without a referral. However, after the state’s direct-access treatment limit is reached, additional authorization or involvement from an appropriate healthcare provider may be required in order for physical therapy to continue. We will let you know when this applies and can provide the information your provider may need.

If you plan to submit your visits to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, please let us know before your first appointment. Insurance documentation requires different billing codes and records, and reimbursement is not guaranteed. Referrals or other requested documentation may be emailed or faxed to our office.
